Our Services

Retirement Planning

Long before retirement even hits our radars, we’re planning what type of education, skills training and professional designations we’ll acquire. We also spend a lot of time planning which industries are the best place to work in, and which employers to work for. Once employed, we carefully...

Estate Planning

For some people, financial planning is mainly concerned with how best to go about building a nest egg, and how to make it last through retirement. But for many, there is a desire to ensure their estate delivers benefits beyond their own retirement, and produces a lasting legacy even after they have...

Financial Planning

Many individuals confuse financial planning with general savings and investing advice. While how to save (and how much!), and where and when to invest those savings, is every bit important, prudent Financial Planning goes much beyond the realm of just saving and investing. The S&P 500 beat the DOW, Nasdaq and other major U.S. benchmarks this year, all while the MSCI World took it on the chin with a laughable single-digit return while the Russell 2000 small-cap index has been quite-literally flat since February. This was a banner year for U.S. stocks, which we capitalized on. Yes, inflation ran hot, but anybody...

Inflation fears are increasing, even among managers who invest in stocks, which have historically been a good long-term bet to rise faster than the cost of living. While some active equity managers our analysts interviewed remain sanguine, others are reducing cash stakes, adjusting their present value assumptions for future earnings, and prioritizing businesses with pricing power. There are reasons to watch inflation closely...

In early January 2020, our official 2020 forecast was 3,600 for the S&P 500. As of Christmas Eve the S&P 500 opened at 3,689. Nice to see the markets moving past our forecast given the year we've had. With the Presidential Election behind us, and a vaccine with high-efficacy, a lot of 2020's uncertainty is behind us.

FAQ

Q

What is your relationship minimum?

While we find we add the most value for those with $500,000 in investable assets or more, we may still be able to help you. No one relationship is the same as the next, and please do not let our minimum discourage you. Do feel free to contact us for a free consultation so we can both decide if we're a mutual match.

Q

How will my portfolio be invested?

We strongly believe you can’t beat a benchmark if you’re hugging it. That’s why we give you our one best idea. We don't pad the portfolio with a bunch of securities to give the illusion of diversification, typically only pursuing compelling investing opportunities in companies with the strongest of fundamentals whose stocks we believe are underpriced. Each portfolio is relatively focused, with only 25 to 40 holdings being the norm.

This way, we can throw the full weight of our conviction behind each security that we purchase and closely monitor the investment.

Q

Do I have enough to retire?

This is one of the greatest questions and typically the most important question our clients ask us, and unfortunately it's not a straight forward answer. There is no magic "number" as you might see in major advertisements. Our calculators can help you. They're a great conversation starter. Let's talk about it together. We aren’t going to sell you anything, either. What do you say?
